This series of laboratory Hydrogen Gas Generator is suitable for generating Hydrogen Gas for all laboratory applications, including hydrogen carrier gas for GC, the ultra pure hydrogen gas generator is able to produce up to 900mL per minute 99.999% pure hydrogen gas.

Only pure water, either distilled or deionized, is required to provide trouble free long-term operation. The small contained volume (<40 ml) makes the Ultra Pure H2 safe for operation in spaces where hydrogen gas cylinders are restricted due to health and safety or space consideration. An auto shut off procedure places the unit in standby in the event of an internal error, and selectable alarms allow the user to be informed whenever operating conditions vary from the set point. This is deemed a no maintenance hydrogen generator as no caustic solution is needed for drying the hydrogen gas generated as a static no maintenance dryer is used. Thus unlike other laboratory hydrogen generators no desiccant has to be changed. Data from the hydrogen gas generator can be downloaded to a PC via the USB interface as a log file to make the traceability and diagnostics more efficient.

The internal pump brings the water to the PEM electrolysis cell from the external water tank. Before going to the cell, the water is filtered and the conductivity is measured. The humid hydrogen goes through the membrane and is first dried by the gas liquid separator and a desiccant cartridge containing desiccant material (self regenerating/ No maintenance). Then the humidity level of the hydrogen gas is measured and regulated at the set pressure by a proportional valve.

The Ultra Pure H2 is ideal for operation with gas analysers, as fuel gas for flame tools, all kind of hydrogen carrier gas application, like GC and GC-MS (Mass Spectrometry), or as a source of pure hydrogen gas in plasma chambers and other isolated environments.

Hydrogen carrier gas linear velocity or flow rate directly influences retention time and efficiency. The proper selection and setting of the carrier gas are essential to obtain the best analysis times, efficiency and reproducibility. Hydrogen gives the best result of the three common carrier gases, and the H2 van Deemter curve is very flat. Hydrogen results in the shortest analysis times.
